The MasterCodemaker Speaks

MasterCodemaker speaks

The MasterCodemaker is not present today.   I shall read from a prepared statement channeled from background radiation in the atmosphere.  This radiation is a communications vector that has been used by codemakers since ancient times.  It is known in the third language of Ludea as the Lanes Alp Tar.

The MasterCodemaker recognizes the importance of solidarity among the codemaking guilds at this critical time; a time when the authorities have seen fit to shut down play on its streets.  The guilds must at least be seen to be united in protest.  They must let the authorities be in no doubt that play is not an option or a choice.  It is the generative force of all organisms, ecosystems and the built environment; it is the élan vital, or what we call in Ludean the Navel Tali.

But this unity is for the MasterCodemaker a compromise.  And it is for this reason that he has chosen to be present by proxy.  The MasterCodemaker can only go so far in publicly acknowledging his association with the other guild masters.  He can not abide, nay will not countenance the illusion that all is well among the guilds.  The MasterCodemaker has made a number of announcements concerning a conspiracy among the guilds to re-write history, to forge a general amnesia in the population of Melbourne.

The MasterCodemaker can reveal today that the current invitation to the good people of Melbourne to rezone the city through play is a ruse, a conceit to conceal the ancient crime that shames the history of the micro-nation of Ludea; a crime of theft, of plagiarism and miscreant attribution.

But the MasterCodemaker also recognizes this current crisis in play as a force for reconciliation.  But not reconciliation among the guilds, but the reconciliation of history, the proper acknowledgment of the One, true designer of the city of Melbourne.  As the MasterCodemaker has repeatedly warned in recent posts, an insidious act of plagiarism took place more than 170 years ago, as the Ludean world planners initiated their design for the algorithm that would activate the program responsible for the growth of Melbourne.  This algorithm is known in Ludean as the Gelded Third Ho.  The famous and much documented rivalry between Melbourne’s two Ludean surveyors, Bold Herder Tö and Rebus Stroller, was never resolved at the time and it continues to this day to be controversial.

Today’s ban on play was foretold in the chronicles of Ludea, specifically in the fourth book of the Colophon Rippley Ti.  This can be found in the State Library of Victoria and the MasterCodemaker urges all players of Melbourne to consult it as part of this protest.  The MasterCodemaker also plans to provide supplementary information in the form of signs throughout the city.  You will be urged to seek these signs out as part of your quest for the truth of who made Melbourne marvelous.

But what you may find will shock you.  In the coming months the MasterCodemaker will provide you with the means to seek and find out the truth behind the insidious cover up and mystery that shames the Ludean nation. Re-activating play on the streets is the necessary means of discovering the information you need to unlock the mystery of Melbourne’s Ludean origins.

Transmission ends.
